“Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception.”
-Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Mother, Wife,
Teacher, Manager, Doctor, Nurse, Police, whatever a woman is, should be
empowered. In a society where people tend to doubt women’s abilities and
capacities, shouldn’t be normalized. The month of March is dubbed as the
National Women’s Empowerment Month. With this year’s theme, ”We Make Change
Work for Women”. To highlight the empowerment of women as active contributors
to and claimholders of development.
As generations passed by, women are now out
warding their competence. Due to the fact that centuries ago, women were not
allowed to do anything but household chores, to care and serve for the family.
Which is in my opinion, there is no gender equality. Men are always believed to
be stronger than women, that they can do anything. To the point wherein, men
have more opportunities in life over women, especially at work. They are given
higher salaries.
It is pleasant and delightful to see women to have the right to speak up about advocacies. To see women in the politics. To see women do things that seem too impossible to carry out. To see women to be a leader. Considering that there are way too many stereotypical thoughts. Here are some methods on how to empower a woman or a co-woman in simple things. First is to appreciate her. Tell her that she matters. Second is to remind her that she can create a better environment for career development. And to prompt her not to be afraid to be outspoken, because her ideas are significant too.
Having said so, women were equally made like men. It is important to take part in gender equality. Even with our own little ways, it can help. As according to World Vision, empowering women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities and countries.
